Conventional fluorescent lamp TL

Conventional fluorescent lamp is form with tubular lamp (TL) with transformer ballast and starter bulb. Operated with 220 volt main voltage.  Wiring diagram of this lamp, can be seen below:

The characteristics of this conventional fluorescent TL are:
  • This lamp type still have deficiency at power consumption,
  • Eye blink detection when the light is on,
  • Light produced is directly proportional to the electrical power consumed
  • Long start lamp ignition, because the starter takes a warming
Ignition process can be accelerated by using greater power ballast, max. twist of power TL so the TL bulb do not quickly to broken or burnt.

Overview of conventional ballast TL

Conventional ballast TL using a transformer model. This component function as a power strip or power regulator. And what is power regulator?
Power regulator is a circuit or component to perform as a limiter, in this case, the source of electricity current will be limited/regulated according to the current TL requirements.
